In 1952, something unusual happened: Hu Yaozhen — a Taoist master renowned for internal cultivation — set aside sectarian boundaries and introduced his top student Feng Zhiqiang to Chen Fake, the great Chen-style master known as "the one man of Tai Chi."
Chen accepted Feng as a disciple. For years, Feng trained under both simultaneously — sometimes seven to eight hours daily.
In 1953, both masters co-founded a research society, giving Feng direct access to both in the same space.
The result of this synthesis was Xin Yi Hun Yuan Taijiquan: Xin (Heart/Mind), Yi (Intent), Hun Yuan (Primordial Unity). External movement is secondary to what initiates it — a clear, unified, unforced intention.
The lineage continues today through Feng's grandson, Master Feng Yanbo, teaching in Singapore.
